Something is wrong with this sub

You guys need to get organized.
So far as I can tell, this is mostly a collection of random experimenters, willing to try odd compounds and kind of report back claims of efficacy. To the average noobe, this is a little better than asking the random drunk guy at the bar that happens to be just knowledgeable enough about nootropics to sound authoritative...mostly because no one else is knowledgeable enough to refute BS claims from said drunk guy.
Yes, we need to do our own research. But what about all the research (presumably you have done it yourselves right?) that's sitting haphazardly in everyone's collective brains?
What use is it there if there is no consensus as to what really works vs what some of you think really works, vs what's buried in unreadable abstracts in pub med?
Yes, I'm being slightly provocative. My question boils down to what's the process towards consensus building?
It would be pretty fucking cool if /r/nootropics started behaving more like /r/askscience in MHO.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't expect so many responses. I've gotten some pretty tough pushback and understandably so since admittedly I kind of asked for it. I realize that perhaps I poked the su…

You really have made an astounding difference - increasing the quality of this sub and, I believe, the wider nootropics community. I really think you have made an incredible contribution to advancing the culture, integrity and standards of the field. I've never gotten the slightest impression you would "sell-out" just to make money and many, perhaps the vast majority of people, in your position (I suspect) would. But you really appear to be motivated by the potential of these substances to help individuals while minimizing potential harm.
Some of the comments in this thread deserves your ire. Try not to take them too seriously - the reddit "celebrity" phenomenon is well documented, including the inevitable rise and fall driven by /u/ envy. Fuck that social "shit". You're going to cop it because of the position you're in... don't take it personally or let it get you down.
Keep up the great work and take a break when you need. I'm sure you feel a responsibility to this community but it won't fall apart (at least, I don't think) if you take a break or reduce your presence when you need to.

Thanks. I went and had a few beers at the brewery. It's all good. I'm just stressed. I've got too much on my plate right now. I'll probably step back for a bit. I promised people that I would advance the community, and bring a lot of new things out. I need to focus on that.
People want more science in the space, and that is what I am trying to do. But that costs money. We can't just wait around for unnamed other people to step up and do the things we want. Eventually it falls to someone. I am going to fund these things in the not to distant future. If people want to call me a sellout for trying to make things happen, then so be it.
Anybody that wants to see change, fucking step up, and make change happen. You want more discussions of proven safe nootropics? Make a damn post, and lead some people in that discussion. I know it easier to complain, and whine. But nothing changes if someone doesn't act. You want to help these new people in the space make proper decisions about things they try out? Comment on their posts. Give suggestions, and provide links for them to learn on their own. It's funny, because I am always the one arguing for the strict definition of a nootropic, and people are jumping on me for it. Now I am a sellout RC dealer, that wants kids to take untested compounds. Strange how I can be on both sides of the argument, depending on the week.
Everyone wants an /r/askscience, but nobody wants to be the one answering. Man the fuck up, and change what you want to see changed.
