Something to keep in mind about mechanisms of action

We still don't completely understand how Tylenol (Paracetamol/Acetaminophen) works to reduce pain. This is one of the most widely used over-the-counter medications, available practically anywhere in the world and discovered over 100 years ago. The brain is an extremely complex thing that we are far from fully understanding at present.
I'm not trying to make any particular point with this; there are a few different arguments/conclusions you could reach from it. I just wanted to share this for those who didn't know. Be critical about everything you read, do proper research on a substance, but know that we really don't know how even the "simplest", most common medications work. Something to think about...

Wasn't trying to make any particular point with it. That's one possibility but another would be to say it's silly not to use something because we don't entirely understand how it works, as we don't even understand Tylenol completely...

Yeah, I get what you are saying, and it is a good point to bring up. People using the "we don't fully understand it" defense with nootropics, are like religious people saying science is flawed, because we disprove theories all the time. We learn new things all the time, about all manner of things. We will always be refining and updating our understanding of the world around us.
