After reading up on here, and a very positive reaction to a little Ashwagandha given me by a friend, I ordered a half pound of powdered root online to add to my daily routine. Day one, at a dosage of 1/2tsp, I noticed the same positive cognitive effects that I had found in my initial experience, followed by, several hours later, a dissociative sensation and feeling of very mild anxiety. Day two, I reduced the dosage to a little more than 1/4tsp, and 100mg of L-theanine (as a precaution against anxiety, but which is not normally part of my routine), and experienced the same detached, uncomfortable, dreamy feeling, eventually accompanied by an even more intense anxiety, that I had to combat by removing myself from the situation I was in and doing a breathing exercise.

I drink coffee but do not normally experience anxiety with the quantity that I drink. No drugs. While I'm supplementing with Ashwagandha for its cognitive benefits - which I really dig - and not for it's anxiolytic properties, the panic I experienced is a t…

Fasoracetam discussion

Replying to full_silver · Daily stack kinda thing or nah? For me, anything anxiolitic sedates me. By the way, have you figured out a way to avoid GI distress with ashwaganda?

No, I only use Tianeptine every once in a while, when I need some extra mood regulation. I find just taking a lower dose of ashwagandha eliminates the GI upset. It's very dose-dependent for me.
