Ritalin vs Modafinal for fatigue

Original post in this thread

IrishWilly · 1 points

I've been unable to feel rested for quite some time and am always tired, went to a neuro the other day and mentioned I occasionally take modafinal to work. He gave me a list of tests I need to have done but in the meantime prescribed me Ritalin (well.. mexican generic version) which surprised me since everything I've read, Modafinal which I already have seems to be the better choice.

Has anyone had experience with both Ritalin and Modafinal for 'fatigue' (always tired/sleepy)? I can concentrate fine when I'm not too sleepy so I don't really care about the ADHD uses for Ritalin. I'm starting on the Ritalin tomorrow so I can post my own results as well if anyone is interested.

update: I tried Ritalin for one day and it was total crap. My head felt kinda like buzzing and my stomache felt upset. I got much less done than when I'm just tired. Modafinal so far is the only thing that actually helps.

L-threonate with the ritalin if I decide to use it, otherwise citrate. Trying something else at the moment though for stimulation/wakefulness (non-nootropic as a disclaimer), eschewing everything except taurine, magnesium citrate, green/black tea, rosemary extract, fish oil to use bitter orange (solaray 525mg) with some grapefruit (and zest) for hesperidin. Avoiding any potential MAOIs (coffee, yerba, rhodiola, etc, etc).

I still need to pick up some citrate. L-threonate is just too expensive to justify, unless I am using it sporadically with real stimulants.

So you are just relying on green/black tea for the stimulation now?

I'd suggest rhodiola as well. Take that when you wake up, and it promotes wakefulness very well. I take it to help with my daytime sleepiness. Also, it helps balance out the bacopa, as I find that it can sometimes make m
