While the majority of nootropics are legal or gray market, to my surprise I have noticed some users on this sub reddit and on other nootropic forums casually list fluoroamphetamines in their stacks. I am curious how they obtain these RC's (ie silk road, sketchy web purchase, know-a-guy..etc.), and how they compare, subjectively, to regular amphets? anyone have any knowledge or experience on this subject?

Here's a question, does something that is typically used recreationally mean that it cannot also have purported "nootropic" value? Do you consider microdoses of LSD or Psilocybin or 2C-C nootropics? Of course there are people who use 2-FMA/2-FA recreationally, but that shouldn't discredit the drug(s) altogether or the person seeking information about using them.
I agree that the question in the OP may not be best for this subreddit because it seems more like sourcing, but I would contend that many people likely use drugs like Phenibut and Tianeptine for recreational purposes too. Those both get mentioned here every day and it's practically the same exact discussion every time.
I'm not saying that something being discussed here makes it a nootropic, my point is that the term has become so bastardized that so many chemicals which clearly do not fit the "definition" get brought up here. That's the thing though, the definition is so loose that there's basically no consensus about it at all, and it's probably fruitless to try to be the arbiter of what is or is not a nootropic to that individual who claims that it is.
There was a post on Bluelight the other day where someone was swearing up and down that 2M2BOH (2-Methyl-2-Butanol) is a nootropic. He went so far as to explain why it is, but EtOH (good old Ethyl Alcohol) isn't. I couldn't disagree more, but it's not the first ti…

Things can have nootropic qualities, while not being a strict nootropic. So some people may use things like low dose LSD for purported nootropic qualities, but LSD itself cannot be defined as a nootropic.
