Quantitative testing for Newbies??

I am new to using nootropics, and just taking a pill and deciding how I feel is not quite working for me. What are the best and cheapest (possibly free) ways to quantitatively measure cognitive parameters of nootropics? Can i measure effects on diverse scales such as memory, attention, creativity etc.?
