Is the safety profile of prl-8-53 over the long term completly unknown? To my knolwedge only one study has been carried out dating back to 1978. This drug has somewhat of a interesting history since it was discovered and then "forgotten". Anyone know why more research hasnt been conducted on it? Why was it "forgotten" and ignored for so long? Any unknown risks we should be aware of before taking it?

The creator of the molecule took it regularly for decades without any issues. That is a sample size of 1, so take that into account. It could very well have an effect on certain people with different genetic mutations than the creator had.
It was lost to time because he could not generate the funding necessary to put it through FDA trials. He even created a more effective version, PRL-8-147. We are trying to figure out the chemical structure of that one.
