Himalaya Brand Bacopa

Original post in this thread

Since there is a lot of concern over the heavy metal content in different Bacopa brands, I thought that I would write Himalaya and ask for the COA for their Brahmi (Bacopa) product. I sent them an email asking for it, and got an automated response asking for my personal contact details. I ignored it, as it was just an automated message. Then I got an email directly from their customer care asking for my name, address, telephone number, and date of birth. I politely informed them that information was unnecessary for them to provide their purity levels and heavy metal analysis. They had my name and email address. There is no reason they need my address and date of birth.

They promptly ignored my email, so I sent another. I asked them again for the COA, and let them know that we were discussing it on a forum, and other vendors had already given us their COAs. They have now promptly ignored that email as well. This is concerning me now. Why won't they give me their COA, or at least respond to my emails unless I give them my address and date of birth?

I have since sent them another email informing them that I will be making posts on multiple health supplement sites, recommending that…

What they were answering

I haven't read the rest of the comments yet because I want to type this right away...

1. Screw Himalaya, let's let the free market do it's work and vote with our dollars. And getting the word out online about these dishonest companies who fail to provide COAs is great.

2. A few weeks ago I purchased "Pure Encapsulations" brand Bacopa. They market themselves as company that sells (only?) to doctors and health professionals. Their products are definitely on the pricey end, but their bacopa actually wasn't overly costly, which is why I got it. It came with a pretty high volume too, 180 capsules. I figured they would have a high quality product, free of toxins. I'm obviously not 100% sure though

Just wanted to throw this name out there for you guys. I have been satisfied with the product, so far...

I'll look into them too. I agree, I will never use Himalaya again, and will tell everyone not to as well.

Purity/Heavy Metals Testing Results

The results from our latest round of testing are in. We all had a pretty good idea that the Bacognize would fair well, as Nootropics Depot's tests showed. However, we now have 3rd party results confirming it. * Lead- .0

Most places are shit. I do not trust Swanson. I've used Vitacost before, but I would not say I really trust them. Never heard of Sevenhills Wholefoods. A lot of smaller brands pop up, sell for a bit, then disappear. Seve

First off, I would like to applaud Pure Encapsulations for giving us this info. It's retarded that I have to be pleasantly surprised that they did, as I think everyone should give us the results. However, it seems everyo

I think the most likely explanation is the simple one. Bacopa up-regulates tryptophan hydroxylase, which increases 5-HTP production, which competes with L-DOPA for the aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase enzyme, which lo
