If I had a choice beteen a drug that increased my IQ by 10% or my motivation by 10% I would go for the latter because it would make a bigger difference to my life. What drugs exist that increase motivation?

Motivation is one of those things that is more of a high-level process. Simply activating the dopamine system is not enough. That being said, taking kratom while forcing yourself to be in a motivational mindset can give some good results. It's not a nootropic, and has opioid affinities, but a stimulating strain like Sumatra White Vein can give you that extra little bit to push yourself. It's not an everyday kind of drug, though. I like to limit myself to 1-2 times per week max. As with any opioid, dependence is possible.
Personally I think it's safer using kratom than jumping up to a full blown stimulant like amphetamine or methylphenidate. Also, it's currently legal in most states, and is natural. Not that being natural means it's better. However, some people value that quality.
Other than that, go for a run or mountain bike ride. Get your natural endorphins flowing and you will feel the same thing. I am just down right now with a broken shoulder, so mountain biking is out of the question. Plus, I hate running!
