Is gingko really useful? How many of you have it in your stack but are really sure of its benefits?

I've been taking 60mg tabs twice daily. I recently read the big JAMA study which said gingko had absolutely no benefit in reducing the progression of dementia in elderly individuals.
I've also read an argument that just because its not effective in reducing alzheimers in elderly, doesnt mean that it couldnt be useful as a nootropic in healthy young individuals.
What do you guys think?
How many of you have gingko in your stack?
I'm confused whether i should just stop taking 'placebo' pills.

My mom swears by it. However, my mom forwards me emails with a subject line: "FW: FW: FW: FW: Look what grandpa did!" so that may not mean much. I've never given it much research or time to have a strong opinion one way or another.
