You sound like an asshole. Even if your relations with acquaintances go well now, you are really missing out on building even more rapport through repeating their name in a conversation.
You don't need to tell them that they're not important, they can through you remembering their name or not.

With starting out a conversation like that, I get a pretty good idea of the type of person you are...
Not everyone places the same value on certain traits or activities you do. I have taught thousands of students all over the world for my work. Some of them speaking very little English, or having difficult-to-pronounce names. Do you honestly think I can process and remember them all? After a while, you start relying less and less on names as a crucial data point to remember; as doing it for everyone is simply impossible. That trait has become a part of who I am, and I do not feel I am any less for it.
Judging someone based on a preconceived notion that you hold, is not a very productive way to go about interacting with people. Not everyone is the same as you, and will not think in the same manner. I'll continue to have many enjoyable conversations with people whom I do not remember the names of. You can continue to write people off based on simple misunderstanding.
