Cephalon had huge incentives to push Nuvigil to the market at the expense of Provigil.

Just like any other prescription once the patent expires. Take Zyrtec for example. Now that the patent has expired, they are pushing Xyzal. That is just the levorotory enantiomer or cetirizine. However, it's only 5mg instead of Zyrtec being 10mg. It's literally the same thing for 10 times the price!
