young children doing drugs

The other day I met someone who claimed to start smoking weed at the age of four. I'm sure that was bullshit, but it made me think about the ethics of letting children/making children do drugs. What kind of drug do you think would be the best for a child? What do you think psychedelic use such as acid, shrooms, or DMT would do to a child's simplistic worldview? I've never really had a full on discussion about it, except to know that most people say it's wrong.

>Ahh yes, Native Americans. The population with the highest alcoholism rate, and 10% of deaths related to alcohol. They are 2.5 times as likely to commit suicide than the average American. They have the highest diabetes rates of any race on earth. Native Americans make up 2% of the total US population, but 8% of the homeless population. 1 in 3 Native American children are obese, and 28% of the population lives below the poverty level. Perhaps we should not look to them as a model for whether or not children should being doing drugs...
It's sad that they are at such a disadvantage, and I think more needs to be done to help them.
I don't necessarily agree with giving young children mescaline, but none of what you mentioned is related to peyote use.

Most likely not. But using the fact that American Indians give their children peyote as a springboard for a discussion on adolescent drug use doesn't make any sense either.
