Then could you please post a short ELI5 for people who aren't so scientifically minded? Often I see studies posted with no context and the comments are full of confused people asking for an explanation.

I only submit self posts, as I feel a blind link to a paper is close to worthless for many people. I never really ELI5 things, but I do explain the significance of what I am posting, and why it is interesting. I wish more people would start posting in self posts with explanations of why they are posting a specific paper, what they found interesting about the results, and possible other sources to corroborate the information.

I found an interesting paper, then found the full study. I did some more research on the systems being affected, and found more links to try and springboard other ideas. So not really explaining like you are 5, but trying to add to the discussion in a more helpful fashion. My wish would be for more people to take that approach.
