Hi Nootropic community, I am 27 year old male. I’ve lost my white collar job and had to take an overnight warehouse job and after researching what can help me stay awake – I came across Modafinil. I’ve been taking it for the last 4 months (half a tablet or 1 tablet max per workday, taking 2-3 days off) I do manual mind numbing work that does not require too much brain, I took this job to do something while I am looking for a good job (the job I went college for) and of course for some cash. Taking Modafinil actually helps me keep sane. I am not constantly in my head thinking how much this job sucks.
I do my job well and I think that it definitely helps people like me, who need it to keep awake. About a week ago I’ve ran out of Modafinil and what I’ve noticed is that while on it I am very awake and concentrated on the job at hand, it’s like being in the moment all the time. It’s like being mesmerized, nothing but this moment exist. Might sound good, but it took all the planning away.

That's because everyone's internal motivation is going to come from different places. It's going to come down to some stimuli pushing your consciousness past the point of comfort. You need to figure out what that stimuli is, then consciously use it to your advantage. Some use guilt. Some use pleasure. Some use excitement. That feeling that pulls you from your comfort zone is going to vary wildly from person to person.
