Been taking a combination of powered piracetam and choline together, at a 1:1 ratio. (The taste is horrible!) I definitely have felt a difference, the best way to describe it is being "clear." I've felt an uplift in mood and thinking, my speech has enhanced too, it just seems to flow.
After browsing this forum, I've read piracetam is relatively weak and I may be experiencing these positive effects from the choline alone, from the increase in acetylcholine, which would be fine with me because I'd save money! So I'm thinking about going Choline alone by just buying the Alpha GPC. Thoughts?

Definitely, mood improvement can be hard to realize if it isn't drastic(i.e. snorting a line of coke) because mood fluctuates, and it's hard to notice feeling generally-above-average. Focus isn't necessarily related to mood and I can definitely notice intense focus when I get it, but motivation and confidence are very heavily tied with mood, so it can be hard to notice if they're only moderately increased.
And this, /r/nootropics, is why you don't rely on anecdotes to determine whether a substance is a placebo or not. Find studies.
The fact you can't feel Piracetam(or other nootropics) means little. I didn't get good at distinguishing it from baseline until I was on it for months(because it doesn't change how you feel, necessarily).

Then you have to take into account interactions with other things you are taking, and just normal day to day mood fluctuations. Forget to mountain bike? "Ohh, why is my mood lower? Must be the piracetam!"
