yeah I was surprised to see the involvement of TNFa because I've been taking Golimumab injections (TNF Inhibitor) for the last 6 months for psoriatic arthritis and it's actually changed my life, my hands were getting really bad and my nails were falling off but after the first injection I noticed improvements all over my body, it completely healed my condition, and every month I take it I have a massive boost of energy... expensive shots but that's an amazing medication... TNF disorders are obviously quite diverse, and far reaching, causing all kinds of inflammation disorders, arthritis, psoriasis, and Alzheimers... it's interesting to see it implicated in glial cells and directly related to human specific intelligence. Perhaps this could be how these conditions evolved in the first place? increased learning, but problems with tissue inflammation... wouldnt want to speculate.

I think you are actually on to something here. I've been noticing a correlation between inflammation disorders and cognition. Obviously it's wild speculation at this point, and probably a little confirmation bias, but it's interesting to hear you bring it up. I have a histamine disorder that has been progressing since early high school. It just so happens that is the time period that my brain started to "speed up" in relation to how I thought as a child. It also happens to be the exact time my depression hit. I've been trying to find a link to histamine and cognition for a while now, and have turned up some very interesting things. It's all very loosely correlated, but fits right into my anecdotal experience. Perhaps I need to continue digging a little deeper into this.
