Sorry I'm still not following how your post relates to the placebo effect or my statements on self improvement. I understand what you're saying, and I largely agree with your sentiment, but I think you're reading into my comments, as if maybe I expected more from nootropics?, I get the standard 'nootropics arent magic' reply... I've been taking them for 12 years... and I'm sorry but I actually do take supplements and then 'go about my day' as normal, I believe nootropics should accomodate your daily routine, they're not like taking MDMA or acid to enhance a night out... but I understand your point.. I'm mainly talking about the placebo effect [the subject of this thread], I'm not hearing anything about placebos in your reply...
I also have a few other remarks... first of all , the word 'cognition' refers to a group of mental processes including memory, and of course any kind of mental improvement has to come from within, what I think you're saying, and I happen to agree with (although I believe I used different words), is that cognition improvements can come from secondary actions, that's kinda the only way they can come, maybe one day we'll have matrix style augs downloaded into our brains, but for now a chemical can only help you in a specific context... also I have to say I don't like the 'room to improve' "colloquialism" at all, because it's actually impossible to quan…
