How long does Modafinil last?

Original post in this thread

On Erowid it says effects generally last 10-15 hours, but I'm interested to hear from you guys, and perhaps personal experiences from people that have actually tried it.

Is it simply a matter of adjusting the dosage to get it to where you want in terms of how long effects stay? I'm about to start modafinil and ideally I'd like the drug to last around 10 or so hours and allow me to sleep after as well. I've read a little bit and some people tend to stay up for a really long time while some barely has an effect at all. If I just experiment with the dosage and find a good balance, would that be a possible goal? Or is the varying effects on individuals independent on the dosage?

Sorry if this appears as a newbish question, I've been browsing the forums and I didn't really see this being addressed so I thought I'd ask. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

Yesterday I took it at 9am and went to bed at 1:30am. That's less of an indication of it keeping me awake, and more of a push to stay awake. If I had wanted to sleep earlier, I could have forced myself. What Modafinil does, for me anyway, is push my brain to keep working longer than it normally would. It's subtle at times, and more forceful at others.

Here to warn the community that I've experienced debilitating rebound anxiety when taking l-theanine. It was 100 percent this substance. Quit a week ago and back to baseline. Theanine is going in the trash.
