A friend's analogy of MDMA..

Original post in this thread

So a few friends and I were smoking the other night when one of them came up with the PERFECT description for the effects of MDMA. She claimed that it gives you the personality of a dog. "Think about it, everything is exciting and captures your full attention, you're ridiculously friendly to the point of cuddling everyone, even those you have only just met, and you're incredibly energetic." I don't know if you guys have ever thought about this before, but I think that this is pretty damn accurate.

EDIT: OK, it seems this idea was much more "perfect" when we were high. I still think it was a very good analogy and I appreciate hearing views from others!

I don't really think snuggling or enjoying the comforting touch of other human beings is "retarded".. maybe some people just instinctually miss that and really want it, and MDMA helps them to feel comfortable actually expressing that

I agree that my initial wording was callous. I was merely projecting my displeasure in the sheer amount and stupidity of underage drug use that I have seen at all-ages EDM events around me; which goes hand-in-hand with the candy raver/cuddle puddle scene. I've seen kids as young as my little sisters fucked out of their minds on various drugs, and it upsets me. I suppose it was the implication that MDMA brings you down to the level of a dog, and all you want to do is rub up on things and get pet. Obviously that was a generalization based upon my experience with events in my area. I apologize if that implication was offensive.
