A friend's analogy of MDMA..

Original post in this thread

So a few friends and I were smoking the other night when one of them came up with the PERFECT description for the effects of MDMA. She claimed that it gives you the personality of a dog. "Think about it, everything is exciting and captures your full attention, you're ridiculously friendly to the point of cuddling everyone, even those you have only just met, and you're incredibly energetic." I don't know if you guys have ever thought about this before, but I think that this is pretty damn accurate.

EDIT: OK, it seems this idea was much more "perfect" when we were high. I still think it was a very good analogy and I appreciate hearing views from others!

Can I ask why it bothers you that other people enjoy these things?
I've been to plenty of "EDM events" in Arizona California and Nevada and yes, I can confirm this stuff goes on. A lot.
But there are also the people who dance until they literally can't anymore, the people who sit and smoke like four packs that night alone and the people who run around selling pills.
They're all just there to have fun, man, and just because what they're doing doesn't look like fun to you doesn't mean you have to hate it and let it prevent you from enjoying the music, lights, and people there to do the same stuff you're doing.
Just a thought.

People can do what they want. I'm not going to be the one to tell them to stop. However, don't disillusion yourself into thinking the drugs are the cause of it. Perhaps deep inside they have always really wanted to be a panda, and the lowering of inhibitions whilst on MDMA allows them to crawl free as they have always dreamed. If they all want to get together and have Pandafest 2012, more power to them. Have a blast at Pandafest!!!! It's also my choice to not be a part of it. And it's their choice to act that way, not the drugs.

It's upsetting to me to see children damaging their brains at events, all under the guise of fun. None of them know the implications of what they are doing, nor are any of them aware of how to protect their brains. And it's all under the guise of having fun and living free like the unicorn they have always wanted to be. It upsets me because they are hurting themselves. I've even tried to tell some of them at events what to take and how to protect themselves better, but they just shove it off like I want to ruin their mythical creature fun. If people were responsible, and of fucking age, then I would not care what they wanted to do. Hell Burning Man is a shitstorm of crazy, and it's awesome! I just hate seeing underage kids hurting themselves under the guise of fun. I'm 27, and there's plenty of fun ahead. No need to try and shove it all in when your brain is still developing.

Which substance, in your opinion, is the hardest to remember what happened afterwards? Also, what is your best blackout story?

Ativan (lorazepam) I was going to the Markus Schulz concert one night, here in Phoenix. At dinner, one of my friends rolls a pill across the table to me. He said it was an Ativan. I was like, ohh ok, thanks. I did not i
