ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Replying to whereismyface_ig · ** Short answer: the chemistry explanation given by the ND owner is basically correct, and the original Reddit post is not reliable evidence of heavy-metal contamination. The situa…
I hope that's what my gravestone reads. Defensive? Yes. Abrasive? Yes. Unprofessional in places? Yes. Ultimately correct? Yes.
Alcohol Question - Supplements to Prevent the Damage?
Replying to GeuseyBetel · Makes sense with the dampening effect. I just want to drink for the optics, so ideally I’d not feel a thing and piss it straight out of my system. It sounds like that’s actually al…
Reduced glutathione is good if you take it daily, but it has low bioavailability, so it has to build up over time. S-acetyl and S-phenylacetyl are much more acute. I actually combine them all daily. That's a big overkill. You could just take S-acetyl if you wanted. However, the p…
I retract my prior statement about the inconsistency of the Noble Kava Tablets

You are likely getting an interaction with meds you are taking. Be careful with kava and medications. It can interact with a lot of them.
ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Replying to hudsondir · This post should be removed as false and misleading.
Then people just scream CENSORSHIP! It's better if people see why the chemistry is faulty, so they don't go out and start trying to test supplements for heavy metals using cheap paper strips.

My pleasure! Merry Christmas!
ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Replying to birdnerdcatlady · I also got some creatine today and that was negative for all heavy metals.
Creatine doesn't contain minerals that will cause cation interference with your strips, nor is is a chelator that will pull other minerals in to do the same. Stop misusing cheap paper strips to test supplements!

Replying to Ashamed-Status-9668 · I held off replying because I assumed you would respond. Nice response.
Who would win in a fight against lead, a $300,000 inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer or one $5 strippy boi? Merry Christmas to you as well! Now I need to get back to building one of my toddler's presents, or my wife is going to literally kill me.
ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Replying to EarthRemembers · If you’re willing to spend probably around 50 bucks, you could send it off to a lab to have more precise testing done I would be very interested to hear about the results
Good news! You don't even need to do that! We already did it, and the results are on every product page.
ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Replying to Exciting_Research120 · Reagent tests suck for this in general, but the mg is itself causing the (false?) positive for that one (*almost certainly*). If you want to verify any of this for yourself you nee…
A simple Google search would have shown this is a false positive due to matrix interferences. https://reddit.com/r/NootropicsDepot/comments/1pux51b/nd_products_testing_positive_for_heavy_metals/nvsjj4c/

There are no heavy metals in our products. You can't test those supplements with paper strips, as they have tons of false positives due to matrix interferences from the way the chemistry works. I talked about it in my below comment. https://reddit.com/r/NootropicsDepot/comments/1…
ND products testing positive for heavy metals
Jesus, dude... Google shit before you do stuff like this. You cannot use test strips to test for heavy metals content in supplements. They shouldn't even be used to test for heavy metals in water, or anything you are consuming. They are not accurate enough for that, and have tons…

Alcohol Question - Supplements to Prevent the Damage?
Replying to mbvlover25 · NAC, Milk Thistle & Tudca
The same goes for NAC. You have to take NAC before drinking alcohol, or it makes the damage worse. It's because of a dual stage pharmacokinetic profile that results in toxic metabolites being made by NAC if alcohol is already in your system, where that metabolic pathway is avoide…
Alcohol Question - Supplements to Prevent the Damage?
We tell people to not take Alcohol Defense before drinking for the sole reason that we don't want it to dampen people's response to alcohol's effect, making them drink more than they normally would. It's safe to take before drinking. However, we have found that people that do tak…
Alcohol Question - Supplements to Prevent the Damage?
Replying to mbvlover25 · NAC, Milk Thistle & Tudca
You have to be really careful with TUDCA and alcohol. Let me break this down, as there's a lot of confusion around TUDCA and alcohol timing. Many companies say that you should avoid TUDCA within 24 hours of consuming alcohol. However, the whole "24-hour rule" thing isn't as black…

Mushrooms are having a comeback?!? LOL We have a product coming out that has maitake standardized to ergothioneine in it, and we are doing a high ergothioneine stack soon as well. If we do a shiitake, we want to do a novel standardized extract with it. We have some ideas.

Replying to meatspin6969 · Why did you stop taking the OmegaTAU?
I'm a person that can start getting depressed with too much choline precursors, so I decided to switch to fish oil and krill oil for my DHA for a while, as OmegaTAU has alpha-GPC in it.

Interesting to hear you say that, because our marketing manager found the same thing. He had high cholesterol, took the Thorne Choleast 900, and his cholesterol did not go down. So perhaps they are not one I should put any trust in. >I also learnt that in the US, FDA doesn’t allo…

Replying to runrunriderepeat · Thank you I really appreciate the response! I usually order right from your site!!
My pleasure! Either direct from us or our Amazon store works for us. We have spent more time growing our Amazon over the past couple years. Many brands start on Amazon, then try to grow their own sites afterwards. We went the other direction.

Replying to GeothermalSpring · Hijackin this thread, but can I ask why you dont supplement uridine?
Honestly, more of an oversight than anything. It's a good thing to have in your stack. I will add it in now that you reminded me. I was taking OmegaTAU before, which had it in there. However, right now I am taking high dose Triple Strength fish oil and NKO krill oil, so adding in…

Well right now the FDA is in shambles because of Trump, but that won't always be the case. You will likely see companies pushing the boundaries of what is allowed for the next 3 years, as they know the adults are no longer in the room. However, I would prefer not to push it. Migr…

Replying to Training-Film-5038 · Have they failed any recent tests that you have done? Or would you still recommend them for stuff you don't currently carry?
I have not tested any Thorne products recently. I do think that their QC quality should not change for a bit, but who knows. I just know the innovation and R&D for formulation is likely done. I am currently using their red yeast rice product, as we don't carry it, and I wanted to…
