You have to be careful with saffron, as most brands are total shit. We recently did some testing on it. I spoke about it in this comment: https://reddit.com/r/NootropicsDepot/comments/1o5dzpg/curious_if_one_takes_saffron_for_very_long_period/njbbk7c/

Here is a direct link to the results.

We did not test California Gold, but look at ones like Nutricost and Life Extension... I did not expect Life Extension to have ZERO crocins or safranals! I'll see about buying some California Gold to run through the lab, because I am curious now. But don't just trust that a big brand name will not be total crap.
