Ecklonia Cava Sun Protection Questions

I'm thinking of giving Ecklonia Cava a try for sleep and skin health, but more importantly for the sun UV damage protection. In an interview someone posted of MYASD (Paul) and Dr. Dreher, Paul talked briefly about how Dieckol is like an "off switch" for the sun. He said he was taking 500mg of the Ecklonia Cava when testing it. What I'm wanting to know is, how long does it take before it turns UV damage "off"? Does it work with just 1 dose? If I take it for sleep, will that effect work the next day when I have to go to work and be out in the sun a bit? Is 250mg sufficient, or does it have to be like 350mg, 500mg, etc.? Can it be less (it's a bit costly)? For cost reasons, could I just take it on days I have work, at least once it has built up if it needs to? Thanks!

I've been taking 500mg a day for a little over a week. I am extremely white, and usually get a bad burn in the beginning of summer then wont burn again. I went swimming for 4 hours in the noon sun yesterday to get my summer burn over with.
I did get burned, but its significantly less severe than my other burns. Normally with the amount of direct sun I got yesterday, I would have been deep lobster red everywhere, in severe pain, with chills and paradoxical hot/cold feelings. My burn from yesterday is a nice light pink, I do not feel sick/ the chills / hot/cold, and it doesn't even really hurt, my skin just feels "tight" if that makes sense, where the burns are.
It seems to have indeed had some effect in making me more resilient to sunburn.

My testing with completely eliminating sunburns was after 4 weeks of daily dosing. It needs time to build up. Also, it is dose-dependent. The more you take, the less likely you will burn at all. Lower amounts reduce, but don't eliminate it. In fact, I went up as well. Higher doses completely stop burning AND tanning. So taking crazy high doses just acts as a complete off switch for the sun.
