Very interesting. Will certainly give this a try. Could be great and targeted for folks with heart palpitations etc. Most magnesium supplements that target heart health or rhythm abnormalities have what they claim to be magnesium taurate.

The issue is that if brands are even testing their magnesium, they are only ICP-MS testing it for magnesium content. If you mix magnesium oxide in with taurine, it can still pass ICP-MS testing, as that is just measuring the magnesium. It's the same for magnesium glycinate. Many suppliers are just selling magnesium oxide mixed with glycine. You have to chelate them together to get magnesium glycinate or taurate. Real chelated forms are also always in bis form. It should be bisglycinate and bistaurate, as magnesium without the oxide is Mg2+. That gives two places for the amino acid to bind to. If you are just taking magnesium oxide mixed with taurine or glycine, you might as well just take cheaper versions of each separately.
