EU customs won't accept orders above 150€ anymore, unless the recipient/customer (!) makes his own customs import registration for each order

However, there are no duties/tariffs assessed for dietary supplements from the US, so even though they are not waived on orders over 150€, the HTS code we use for most our products exempts them. We had to fix the codes, though.
Are you sure? After you fixed the HTS code the amount I had to pay definitely became less, but it was still more than the 7% VAT. My understanding was that just too high of a percentage was used with the wrong HTS codes.
But doesn't really matter know, if only orders below 150€ make sense anyways.
Is there a possibility to accommodate international customers with lower or free international shipping? Like free shipping at 150$ (enough wiggle room for exchange rate fluctuations) or something like that? Making order close to 200$ and paying (depending on weight) usually 20$ shipping just because of the 150€ rule is really unfortunate.
Regarding them insisting on a printed invoice inside the package, I'll see how my next order goes and give an update. The inconsistent enforcement and unclear communication of their rules is really driving me crazy.
Also, sorry, but I have to ask the obligatory questions:
1. When DDP 🦧
2. When EU warehouse 🦧

I am not sure of anything in the EU anymore. We spent many hours working through all the HTS codes and shit for the EU. 2106.90.9855 was the one we settled on, and confirmed that with the EU's sites. I just went back on there, and 2106.90.9855 doesn't show up anymore!!! WTF?!? Did they change the HTS codes again?!?

If you look through that, 2106.90.9855 is gone. Now it looks like we need to use 2106.90.9869.

That would give zero duties and 7% VAT in Germany. I swear on my life the HTS code was different a few months ago when we fixed everything. It was 2106.90.9855, and we switched all supplement products to that, so it would fix the EU issue. Now it seems to be 2106.90.9869. I just looked on there again. It says "Last update 18 August 2023" on the page... So they did change it? I feel like I am taking crazy pills!!! Looks like we need to change all our outbound dietary supplement products to 2106.90.9869 now. That should be 0% duties and 7% VAT in Germany.

No, over 150€ is still fine, because the HTS code for supplements waives duties/tariffs anyway. Once the HTS code is fixed, it should be fine over 150€. The issue is they changed the HTS codes on us again, so it was trying to assess some duties. Not sure what they were doing, since the 2106.90.9855 doesn't even show up anymore, though.

We are getting squeezed with shipping costs as it is. We were actually considering upping the limit. Shipping costs just keep going up an up, as do all our other costs. There is no more room to eat the costs.

Likely never an EU warehouse. DDP I am not sure. We have been going back and forth with our lawyers and EU authorities, and there is a lot more implications legally once we switch.
I just looked into it more, and I guess HTS codes change regularly... with a larger change every 5 years. I can see the second half of 2022 HTS code change had 300 amendments, and affected over 12% of all EU codes! So they keep changing shit on us! Per the EU site, the current HTS code is 2106.90.9869 for dietary supplement products. We will change that now.
