I keep seeing that nootropicsdepot is highly recommended across reddit, but I don’t see that it’s ever done third party certification like NSF or USP? I also haven’t seen much on consumerlabs about it. Am I missing something?

So out of curiosity how do the cGMP(s) work exactly? As in does each third party organization have their own cGMP for example? Like on one hand, there would be dicentra's cGMP and another would be NSF's cGMP?
How would one then evaluate the third party organization and then the differences in their specific accrediting practices? For example, doesn't NSF use both cGMP and NSF certified sport for supplements? What would the difference there?

cGMP just stands for current good manufacturing practices, and that is set by the FDA in 21 CRF part 111.

Accreditation bodies like Dicentra, USP, NSF, or ANAB are organizations that get ISO 17065 certified to ensure they can assess whether or not other companies are following the cGMP guidelines set forth by the FDA.

All accreditation bodies giving cGMP certifications in the US are following the same guidelines set forth by the FDA, and are certified themselves under ISO 17065. They don't make up their own rules. They just assess whether or not companies are following the FDA guidelines, and they follow the ISO guidelines in assessing that. Dicentra is based in Canada, so they also do certifications for Canadian companies to see if they are following the guidelines set forth by Health Canada. NSF certified for sport is just a program that NSF does to ensure products won't get athletes in trouble for contamination with banned substances. They test for things on the WADA banned list to ensure athletes won't pop for something. We actually do that on some products, too. We test specifically for the WADA substances on our products that affect testosterone, as those are the most likely ones to be spiked. Obviously we test every batch of every product that enters our facility for identity, purity, contaminants, etc. However, we actually specifically look for the WADA banned list on certain ones. That's what the NSF certified for sport does. NSF does that in their ISO certified lab. We actually send off to another ISO certified lab for it. We are probably going to bring that in-house to our ISO certified lab soon, but we just have to develop and validate the methods.
