OptiNAD+ and tinnitus

Last week there was a OptiNAD+ Reviews Thread in where 4 different users experienced tinnitus after dosing OptiNAD+. This is pretty concerning, especially considering one of the users contacted ND support and they reportedly refused to help, speculating it was due to potential legal issues. I really hope that's not the case, ND staff always discuss all the positive impacts of their supplements, but surly they wouldn't ignore a side effect that multiple customers are experiencing. I'm posting this thread in order to get a bit more visibility and discussion around the issue. Hopefully someone from ND can jump in and get involved as well.
For those who haven't experienced tinnitus consider yourself lucky, it is not a pleasant condition.

FWIW the only supplement I ever tried that set off tinnitus was magnesium l-threonate, and specifically that form. It levels off after a couple weeks of taking it, though. Threonine reduces GABA activity, but so does ginkgo, yet the latter never moved tinnitus in either direction. Quercetin never did either, with or without vitamin C. Supplements and diet aside, I've always had tinnitus that comes and goes.
That said, I have yet to try OptiNAD+, but I've also had no issues with ND's NMN tablets or Thorne's ResveraCel. If it does have to do with methyl depletion, I would expect ResveraCel to be worse, since it only has 85mg of TMG vs 500mg in OptiNAD+.

This is the issue with tinnitus. Everyone is different. Things that set it off in some people actually make it better in others. I've never had issues with quercetin or any of the NAD+ precursors. Gingko doesn't really change anything for me one way or another, but /u/Pretty-Chill's dad says it lowers his. Some people don't notice tinnitus till they go out drinking and wake up the next day with it. Then as you said, tinnitus sometimes just comes and goes randomly. It's not a simple thing to address.
