Do you lose muscle when you eat enough protein but don’t work out?

Let’s say someone has an injury that prevents them from exercising. Does eating enough protein prevent muscle loss or does it just slow it down?

Do as much walking as you can - it makes a big difference at reducing muscle loss compared with being completely inactive. Stand rather than sit when you can. You'll probably still lose a lot of muscle, but better than nothing. Is swimming or water based exercise something you can do?

Epicatechin might be a supplement that could help, not sure though, not many studies. L-Carnitine (Acetyl-L-Carnitine might be better) maybe - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27841025/. Otherwise make sure to eat a healthy balanced diet, making sure to get enough vitamins/minerals.

/u/MisterYouAreSoDumb, would you happen to have any suggestions?

ALCAR, epicatechin, and D3/K2 would be my suggestion. L-carnosine paired with reduced glutathione might be a good idea, too.
