It was going to require $300,000 in facility alterations, and was going to be an explosion hazard... which is not something we knew when we ordered it. So we are shifting to a different coating machine with an open bowl design, rather than a sealed pressurized design. That will allow us to not have nearly as much facility changes, and won't have the explosion hazard that the pressurized and sealed unit would.
On that same note, the automated tablet press we got in has never worked, either. It ran for a total of one hour before breaking! We just can't catch a break right now. The CEO of that company is flying out to our facility on Friday, though. We had a big call about it all yesterday. It's been a mess. He assured me that he will either get our machine up and running on Friday, or ship us a brand new machine from their warehouse to replace it. If things had gone as I had hoped, we would be doing all the coated tablets in-house by this point, but the universe has other plans for my sanity, it seems...
