I think the concept is good, and our sucrosomial products are a form of liposomes. However, the issue is lack of proper quality control for these supposed liposomes on the market. These suppliers are just mixing things with soy lecithin and calling them liposomes without any lab data showing the particles created are liposomal. They have no SEM/TEM data showing that the actives are fully enveloped in lipid spheres. They have no DLS data showing the average particle size of the batch to ensure what percentage of the particles can even be called liposomal. That's my issue with it all. We are working on our own liposomal products, but none of the labs out there can currently test them, much less are testing them for our competitors selling these products. As everyone here knows, we don't sell things unless I can personally be sure we can stand behind the label claims on them. Because nobody currently tests for these things, we have to do it all from scratch. We now have some DLS and SEM/TEM data, and we are using a few more methodologies to really get a solid orthogonal confirmation of what liposomes are, what specs determine that, how to ensure your product meets those specs, and whether or not liposomes result in the improvements that some of these companies claim. There is also a better solution to the issue that we feel might perform better. Those are things called phytomsomes. These incorporate the actives into the lipid bi-layers, rather than just surrounding random sizes particle with random sized lipids. This is the path we are likely going to go down, as those are more controlled, result in better pharmacokinetics, have more data behind them, and overall just seem like a more intelligent solution to the problem. So once we solve the lab testing and QC side of things, you can expect a bunch of products to be released from us either in phytosomes, or a more controlled liposomal formulation.

So that is our take on it. The concept itself seems promising, but nobody out there is doing the lab work to even prove to me that the particles are liposomes, much less provide the benefits that these companies claim. We have to solve that lab issue first, but then you can expect some cool products from us once I am absolutely sure we are providing a product that is what it claims to be. I also think many companies are using it as a gimmick for things it really has no business being used for. So we will only be using this strategy for products that it makes sense on. A lot of the time they are putting highly-bioavailable things into liposomes to just make it seem better, but it does nothing to improve it. We will not use it as a marketing gimmick, only where is makes sense based off the science.
