ND's Lemon Balm suggestions? Dose? Tips?

Original post in this thread

OPengiun · 12 points

I'm a fan of Lemon Balm tinctures and whatnot, and just recently got ND's in-house Lemon Balm tablets.

Took 1 500mg with lunch and haven't felt anything from it. Normally, with tinctures I do (those are about equal to 600mg of fresh aerial parts). This tablet is presumably 8x more plant material than what I normally take with the tinctures, so I thought I might feel something.

So, couple of questions:

* What is the upper level dosage while avoiding potential toxicity?
* With or without food?
* Would combining a bit of magnolia bark extract help potentiate the effects?
* Are there any other compounds in this dual extract that could be counteracting the normal sedating effects of water extracts or ethanol extracts?
* Anything else or any tips I should know?

Thanks for the info! It's funny that you mention L-theanine, because about 45 minutes ago, I took 400mg of l-theanine with some coffee, and the relaxing effects are much much more pronounced. Almost to the point where it is negatively affecting my focus on some work haha, however it does feel pretty zen.

Definitely see how this would be better suited for nighttime to unwind and sleep.

Do you know how long a dose of Lemon Balm acts? Is there a specific half life, or is it pretty different from person to person?

I did the same thing with some kava, L-theanine, and magnolia bark. I underestimated them, took them together, then couldn't drive. LOL. I developed these products and own the company! Even I can underestimate things sometimes.

Lemon balm seems to work around 3-5 hours for me. Everyone is different, but that seems to be fairly commonly reported. Obviously the effects slowly wane, but I can feel more calm still at the 5 hour mark.

No worries. I would just preface that when you make posts about it. Otherwise people start to read all these posts thinking that the average person feels nothing. Trying to get off all those things is a tough one. You

You have it backwards. White tea has the least amount of caffeine and the highest polyphenols and catechins, like EGCG. Black tea has the highest caffeine content and L-theanine due to the oxidation process. White and gr

Kava could be an option for you. It up-regulates GABA-A receptors. It actually sensitizes over time, rather than builds a tolerance. Ashwagandha is an adaptopgen, and helps modulate your GABA system without building tol

Best nootropic for stage fright?

Replying to kittenhormones · I take Ashwagandha every day, does not help much with my problem but is one hell of a herb for general brain-health. I have decaffinated green tea powder at home, will that suffice

Green tea has L-theanine, but not in the dosages you would need. If you really have bad stage fright, then a stronger GABAeric might be needed. Phenibut can be used for this. Also, kava can help too. Apart from that, you
