ND's Lemon Balm suggestions? Dose? Tips?

I'm a fan of Lemon Balm tinctures and whatnot, and just recently got ND's in-house Lemon Balm tablets.
Took 1 500mg with lunch and haven't felt anything from it. Normally, with tinctures I do (those are about equal to 600mg of fresh aerial parts). This tablet is presumably 8x more plant material than what I normally take with the tinctures, so I thought I might feel something.
So, couple of questions:
* What is the upper level dosage while avoiding potential toxicity?
* With or without food?
* Would combining a bit of magnolia bark extract help potentiate the effects?
* Are there any other compounds in this dual extract that could be counteracting the normal sedating effects of water extracts or ethanol extracts?
* Anything else or any tips I should know?

More is not always better with lemon balm. I find a single 500mg tablet to be my sweet spot. Empty stomach. If you go higher, it can actually go the other direction. Both L-theanine and magnolia bark absolutely potentiate the effects. Most of the time I take the tablet before bed for sleep. However, I have taken it during the day for a calming effect as well. Usually that is in combos with a few other things, like magnolia bark and kava.
