When did the free 2-3 day shipping switch to USPS from FedEx?

An order I placed yesterday with the over $50 free shipping option selected is being shipped using USPS. I ordered some replacement noots because I will be out in a couple of days, so I was expecting to get what I ordered by Saturday with the free 2-3 day shipping.
edit: ~~so now apparently domestic orders from $50-$79.99 are going via USPS. Orders $80 and more are shipping via FedEx 2 day. It would have been real nice of ND to have any sort of notification on the website of this change, even during check out. Had I known I would have acted accordingly and either ordered a week early (because that is likely how long USPS will take to get it to me, as they are still awaiting the items that I ordered yesterday) or chosen a different shipping option. Terrible way to handle this change. And now I will be out of what I need to help me sleep and have to wait a ~week. I feel incredibly misled when the site still clearly says free 2-3 day shipping on orders over $50.~~
edit2: I was wrong on the USPS shipping being slow. The package is out for delivery. USPS didnt update the status. I regret doubting ND. Major apologies!

Who decides to give everyone the same rate, regardless of volume?!?

We've made our displeasure very clear to our reps there. They understand, but their hands are tied from the higher ups making decisions. They also told us they are feeling the labor shortage a lot. Some of their distribution centers are operating at 60% of the staff they need for the volume. The whole supply chain is just an absolute mess. It can't keep going like this for much longer.
