When did the free 2-3 day shipping switch to USPS from FedEx?

An order I placed yesterday with the over $50 free shipping option selected is being shipped using USPS. I ordered some replacement noots because I will be out in a couple of days, so I was expecting to get what I ordered by Saturday with the free 2-3 day shipping.
edit: ~~so now apparently domestic orders from $50-$79.99 are going via USPS. Orders $80 and more are shipping via FedEx 2 day. It would have been real nice of ND to have any sort of notification on the website of this change, even during check out. Had I known I would have acted accordingly and either ordered a week early (because that is likely how long USPS will take to get it to me, as they are still awaiting the items that I ordered yesterday) or chosen a different shipping option. Terrible way to handle this change. And now I will be out of what I need to help me sleep and have to wait a ~week. I feel incredibly misled when the site still clearly says free 2-3 day shipping on orders over $50.~~
edit2: I was wrong on the USPS shipping being slow. The package is out for delivery. USPS didnt update the status. I regret doubting ND. Major apologies!

We literally just changed it. FedEx raised rates 25% overnight. This happened a couple days ago. USPS Priority is still 2-3 day shipping. Both options are 2-3 day shipping. It's just FedEx has now made it impossible to make the numbers work for the orders in the $50-$80 range. USPS Priority still delivers on Saturdays, and they are going much faster than they were last year. Costs keep going up and up. This is the second price raise this year for FedEx. We tried to stave off the raises by pressuring our reps on volume, but they said it's a directive from the higher ups at FedEx. All prices are being raised and being normalized between vendors. No volume discounts anymore. Same high prices for everyone. So basically we are getting fucked by FedEx and we have no recourse. Costs across the board just keep shooting up at insane rates. Something has to give.
