Is the FDA using the WHO to ban kratom without democratic accountability? How are we supposed to vote?

What they were answering

PhantomZero77 · 1 points

Hey u/Misteryouaresodumb, I’m curious. I know you took kratom daily for a good while there, do you still use it? Either way I was just curious how you felt about the potential ban and if you left a comment on the AKA website describing how it positively impacted you yet! (if you feel it positively impacted you that is)

I still use it. The recent WHO notice was procedural. I don't see it as an indication of an impending ban, nor do I see it as a backdoor way for the FDA to pull strings. The FDA is required by law to respond to a filed notice from the WHO like that. They are required to open it up for a comment period. That doesn't mean they have to do anything more than that. I suppose it could be a sneaky way they could be trying to push things along without the blame falling to them. However, I don't get that feeling here. Maybe the WHO is getting pressured by someone to start this investigation, but I don't think the FDA is pressuring the WHO. I think this is just the FDA responding to their legal requirement.
