Any personal experiences? Read some promising comments about its effectiveness for fatigue, sleep and recovering but there's not really much out there.

I have not found any evidence that it would be detrimental to adolescents. In fact, they were studying using it as a treatment for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. There was also a study showing it positively affected cognition.
