Why is Micromag so expensive?

As the title says, I'm wondering why it's so pricy?
Pure Encapsulations offers "UltraMag" 120caps of 225mg Elemental mag (as Sucrosomial magnesium) for 2/3rds of the price of the 90 caps.
Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks!

Is that the case with Magtein pricing as well? I’ve been recommending your Magtein to many, many people. Some have wanted to source from cheaper brands on Amazon but I have discouraged them due to quality control concerns. You guys are the only supplier I trust. Most have bought from you anyway, but at recommended dosage of 3 pills per day, I know the cost is prohibitively high for some people.

Negative. Magtein costs us a lot from the manufacturer. It's very expensive, and they won't lower the pricing. We have tried many times. There are people selling it BELOW OUR COST. I'll leave you to determine if that is legitimate or not. It would be easy as shit for me to buy generic magnesium L-threonate from China, then mix 500kg in with 500kg of Magtein and call the entire batch Magtein. I could do it in a way that nobody would ever know. I know for a fact other brands are doing that, because I talk to the Chinese suppliers facilitating it. They won't tell me the brands that are doing it, but they say they are supplying competitors with bulk L-threonate labeled as other shit to not arise attention. That bulk magnesium L-threonate from China is going somewhere in the US, and since AIDP is very serious about enforcing their patent, it's not going to products labeling it as generic. I've tried to get the people higher up to investigate further, but that's a delicate situation. You'd have to have some conclusive proof to start accusing brands that are selling your shit of something like that. If they are buying a good amount from you, and those orders are increasing over time, why would you rock the boat? Also, we have tested Magtein from other brands on Amazon, and they were not filled to the claimed amount. It's easier to cut costs if you underfill your capsules by 20%.
Trust me, I would love to sell it cheaper. I have tried really hard to get the patent holder to give more favorable pricing, but they won't budge. They said they need the margins to fund their scientific research and studies that help promote Magtein. AIDP also has MAP agreements in place, or minimum advertised pricing. A lot of times people are selling below MAP, which is against the rules. However, it is like whack a mole for them. We report a brand selling below MAP, they threaten them, pricing adjusts for a bit, then it lowers again 6 months later when nobody is looking. It's hard to compete when other people just break the rules.
