One of the most requested features on our website has been a page that can include our newest and upcoming product releases. While we do have a New Product category, new products would typically be released at random and without warning. However, many of you shop with us daily and we recognize it would be much more convenient if you are able to know when a new product release is coming or if a new product was recently released. In fact, it has been expressed to us many times that having that information may help you and your fellow shoppers decide whether to place an order now or if you would rather wait a few days until our newest product is released.

The fact you are trying to balance both keeping the customers happy and doing what is best for the business is admirable. I am guessing what is best for the business would be not to say anything and let people be upset, as they have no where else to go for these products anyways. Good work here.
It may help your objective to say what products are in the pipeline and just say "coming soon".

Yeah, that could be an option. However, sometimes we think something might be coming soon, but we hit a hurdle. Sometimes those hurdles take a year or more to finally resolve. Perhaps coming up with a system that only gives things that are far enough through the process that we are pretty sure they will not have long delays, but that's only going to give a little extra time on them. We are definitely going to improve this process over time, though. I think it will also help smooth out the process of releasing new things from an internal perspective, too. For the longest time we were just trying to get things out as quick as we could, and everyone's mandate was just to put things up ASAP. However, after hearing feedback from customers, and thinking about it more myself, a more controlled release system is a better idea; even if it slows things down a little.
