Hello I have been researching lions mane products, all over reddit you guys are recommended but when I check your product on amazon using fakespot, it has an F rating. You guys can see here
I’m just wondering why on reddit you guys have great reviews but have an F on Amazon.
I really want to buy but this is putting question marks in my head.

That sucks bro. I had no idea about the vine program and learned something new today. I am sorry but this all sounds fucking stupid!! How could they do this to you, to your baby, to your brand? After reading the thread I already ordered a bottle the day I posted this and you are right with the other sellers, everybody does it and amazon just looks away. Amazon is just a corrupt marketplace where bribing is the way to go now. What I don’t get is how can fakespot get away with this? Isn’t this defamation? God knows how many customers you have lost and more than that they are basically spitting on your face saying you are a sham even though you are all about legitimacy and honesty. Can’t you sue these fuckers?

Libel/defamation is not as easy to win as it seems. You have to prove someone knowingly mislead with "actual malice" to win. All they have to show is that they have an algorithm that they apply equally to everyone. It doesn't matter that the algorithm is BS. If they make a shitty algorithm, but apply that algorithm equally to everyone, there will likely be enough plausible deniability for them. You also have to prove actual damages. We can assume we lost sales because of it, but quantifying that would be difficult. They are also careful about their wording. They give "Fakespot Review Grades." That's a made up term they came up with, and they define what that means using their secret algorithms. They are not making outright explicit claims about us. They are giving our product a rating based on BS stuff they make up, but that would not cross the line of libel/defamation. If they came out and said our product was fake and we were paying for reviews, then it would be closer to libel. Making up your own grading system isn't really far enough. Anyone can make up a fake grading system for companies if they want. That's not illegal. It just becomes a problem when people start actually believing that fake grading system as fact. I suppose a class action suit could be brought by multiple vendors, and if we had a good enough argument a judge might let the suit proceed to discovery. Then we could actually dig into their systems and see how they are applying this "AI" system they have, and if there is any shadiness going on in how they apply it. However, that would be expensive, and there is just not a lot of public information to convince a judge there is enough to let the suit proceed. The legal system is a lot more convoluted than most people realize. It's frustrating, but not much we can do about it.
It's okay, though. We are never going to be big on Amazon, because we won't break the rules like everyone else. You can't get to the top on there without breaking the rules. Hell, our competitors even report our products on there for BS to get Amazon to temporarily pull them. Then we lose sales velocity, and we have to work back up momentum from nothing. It happens all the time. Someone kept reporting our NMN listings as containing cocaine, and Amazon pulls the listing while they make us prove it doesn't. It's ridiculous. Then you can bribe Amazon employees in China to straight up lock competitors accounts, hijack their listings, or even get them to delete reviews from your competitor's products. It's just nuts. I really hate Amazon, as does everyone on my team that has to deal with it. Ohh well. C'est la vie. I much prefer dealing directly with customers on our own site anyway. Plus, then you don't have to pay Amazon commissions for the privilege of getting screwed by their platform.
