Can I ask how (more or less) would you define 'cool' though? Cause where I live we get many months of high 30s/low 40s celsius so I wonder if that qualifies. I know it probably varies a lot from product to product, but should I consider putting some stuff in the fridge?

Cool would be 25C or lower. I would not consider 40C cool. Do you have air conditioning?

It should be fine. Even if things degrade over time, they don't go to 0. Most things are pretty stable when stored in a cool dry place.
