Removing magnesium stearate from capsules?

Original post in this thread

lambdaba · 1 points

I've purchased piracetam capsules when powder became unavailable. From estimates they have something like 100-150mg magnesium stearate, which I'd like to remove for many reasons (potential harm + reduction of absorption)

Is there a reliable way to do so? I've noticed part of the powder foams on top when mixing with water. I suppose this is mostly the magnesium stearate, is that enough or is there some more reliable procedure?

What they were answering

Thank you

I think I got to that number by weighting the capsule at about 1050mg with expected 800mg piracetam and 100mg capsule. Of course at 10mg it's a different scale.

I had basically the same impression, although I hadn't heard it could actually have some specific good properties. That being said, what got my attention was a mention of it being a "trans-fat", I know about stearic acid (I'm subscribed to r/saturatedfat), but I understand nothing about the biochemistry that would allow me to dismiss it, also knowing that things like magnesium threonate can have special properties.

Magnesium stearate is a flow agent, not a filler. So it will never be in very high amounts in any capsule. Also, stearic acid is not a trans fat. Where did you see that? Was it on /r/SaturatedFat? You should not be worried at all about stearic acid. Not at all. It's beneficial and the science is absolutely clear on it. Anyone saying magnesium stearate is harmful should be ignored. They have no idea what they are talking about. Please don't fall for the fear propaganda out there right now. We would never add something to our products that is unsafe or counterproductive to the bioavailability of the product. We have some of the smartest scientists I have ever had the pleasure of working with on our team now, and we discuss all this stuff in great detail in the background.

Magnesium threonate doesn't really have special properties pharmacologically. It's all to improve pharmacokinetics. If you injected ionic magnesium and threonic acid into your system you would get the same effects. The benefit of magnesium L-threonate is that the chelated complex of it allows it to get magnesium into the system in higher amounts orally. The coordinate bonds do dissociate in serum, though. So it is basically a delivery system for magnesium and threonic acid. You would get the same effects with each individually if you injected them. Does that make sense?

If I were taking amphetamine every day, I would absolutely take a few things. * A good magnesium (glycinate if you take at night, or our Micromag for the day) * A good alpha lipoic acid (Na-R-ALA or our OptimALA) * ALCA

How long prior to MDMA should you take your pre-load? (multivitamins, magnesium and antioxidants)

**-Fully chelated magnesium glycinate.** Doctor's Best brand is good. Most brands are shit. (Dose 400mg before and during) **-Alpha lipoic acid.** You can either get racemic ALA, which is still good. Or you can get full
