Hi everyone I hope you are all well.

Let's day i want to by a herbal supplement on capsule form.

1 brands label just states
500mg of the herb

The second brand says

(Herb name) 4:1 extract 500mg

Can someone tell me difference please? I think the extract one may mean that it has 125mg of powder in the capsule?

Which one is best to buy?

What they were answering

It doesn't actually say 135mg on the label.

It says ashwaghanda 1: 4 extract 500mg

For sure, because that would violate FDA guidelines to have false wording on the label like that. However, making statements saying that a 4:1 extract is like taking 4X as much raw plant is a total misunderstanding of how things work. Ashwagandha is standardized to withanolides. If they are not claiming % withanolides on the label, then it is a shitty product.

KSM-66 and Sensoril Ashwagandha brands are extremely dishonest.

Replying to Megatron_McLargeHuge · NootropicsDepot sells both and supposedly has the most reliable lab testing of any consumer vendor. Have you looked at their versions?

We removed the withanolide claims years ago from those two products, because we found this out in our lab testing. Both Natreon and Ixoreal were not happy with us about it, but we called them out multiple times at Supply
