It says both R and S isomers. Does anyone know the percentage? I was reading the R isomer is not effective.

So oxiracetam has a sterocenter where the hydroxyl group attaches to the pyrrolidone ring. It's the same place the phenyl grouping attaches in phenylpiracetam, which also forms R and S isomers. However, ALL synths of both phenylpiracetam and oxiracetam are racemic, which means a 50/50 mixture of both isomers. Enantiopure synths are very difficult and expensive. Nobody in the world does them for racetams. I literally mean nobody. I have tried for years to get labs to do it, and even threw money at some. None of them have. Every single racetam you get that has a sterocenter right now will be racemic.
That being said, we have started to do our own syntheses now with some partners we have made. So enantiopure racetam synths might just be in the future soon! I can't convince other labs to take on the project, so we just start building our own lab instead!
