As a past member of the Kava community, I do not like extracts because compared to the actual root and a traditional preparation the effects just don't compare.

That might mean the people doing the extracts just don't know what they are doing, or that might have some merit with the profile of actives. This is what we are going through now.

We have found that total kavalactone percentage is a poor indicator of kava quality. We tested a lot of kava over the past 2 years. Some of them were 70% kavalactones. There was almost no correlation to total kavalactone
