Yeast extract/EpiCor decreasing NGF?

Original post in this thread

PermanentBrunch · 4 points

Having previously taken EpiCor, I was looking to buy more from ND, and after doing some research, came across a thread that stated that EpiCor decreased NGF in rats. That is actually in the product's copy. Curious, especially if u/MisterYouAreSoDumb could provide any insight.

It doesn't seem like decreasing NGF would be ideal, but certainly due to the study, this could be a modulatory effect. Also curious if there is any risk of hormonal or sexual side-effects given similarities that I understand these have with certain properties of mushrooms (I recall reading that reishi can have long-term sexual side effects).

I'd be grateful for any insight!

Thank you sir for breaking that down. I’m not great at interpreting studies, so I appreciate the explanation. I googled before I asked, but it didn’t pull up that thread for whatever reason. I figure I’ll try the yeast extract since that’s your version of EpiCor.

Do you know if it has effect on sex hormones? I read that reishi did, in the same vein as finasteride, so I only took it a few times.

Thanks again, I’m about to drop a decent chunk of change at your store. Quality products and info

I do not see any data indicating that yeast extracts affect sex hormones. Reishi can, but only certain extracts. It just lowers DHT, which is not always a bad thing.

Most of the mushroom products out there are complete shit. USP just recently released this study. https://mega.nz/#!1JhWlKCS!kZyobFVWyYixh0Y0dIy2a1JygrSzjWUKmUKwO8lxz_U Only 5 of the 19 Reishi products tested properly.

Red reishi extract, increasing wellness.

Which extract did you take? Reishi can get super calming if you do it right. Our supercritical CO2 extract of reishi spore oil is something else. So calming. Feels like no other reishi.
