Agmatine 2.0

Hi, I posted here about my experience with agmatine sulfate and kratom in late-October 2019. The story I described went as follows (please note I had been taking kratom for \~2 years prior to taking the agmatine):
1.) I took \~1.50g agmatine on two separate occasions over the course of 2-3 days, with the intent of simultaneously reducing my kratom dose ... I didn't reduce my kratom dose (which in hindsight may have been a mistake).
2.) following these agmatine doses, I ceased agmatine and continued taking kratom at my normal amount.
3.) since taking the agmatine, my emotional range, euphoria experienced via kratom (and euphoria experienced in general), and general sense of color in the world has been completely stunted. I was optimistic this would clear with time away from agmatine, but no-dice.
Fast forward 7 months to now, I am still feeling a different baseline mood and different reaction to kratom than I was pre-agmatine. Another thing I've noticed is that time seems to move faster in a very subtle but consistently noticeable way, and I often have a headband-like pressure headache, most noticeable on the sides of my head, and I often feel an emptiness in the front of my he…

Got it, this makes sense. Thank you for the thoughtful response. I'll explore racetams as a potential option to speed up the process. Given that you noted kratom also has NMDA antagonism, I suppose I may need to entirely remove kratom for some period of time for this to fully clear. I haven't noticed much (if any) of an improvement over the past 7 months which is likely due to the initial megadoses of agmatine and continued use of kratom.
The funny thing is, when I incorporate stem & vein into my dose of kratom (which I do anywhere from 1-3 times per week), I find a temporary improvement and relief from the brain fog and "stuckness", yet perhaps this could be prolonging the whole process long-term. Interesting.
Two questions based on your post:
1.) Which of the racetams would you recommend for temporary use to assist in reversing this situation? I'll research on my own too.
2.) Any thoughts on why stem & vein, which as you note tends to have relatively more NMDA antagonism compared to the leaf (I've read the same elsewhere too) would actually temporarily improve the brain fog if it's working via similar mechanisms to agmatine? Edit: I also noticed the same thing with agmatine when I took it -- the first couple days after dosing, I felt lighter on my feet, was thinking quicker, felt sharper ... just want to better understand why these NDMA antagonists initially have that ef…

1) It's hard to say. Nefiracetam might be good, as that binds to the glycine site of the NMDAR. However, I am not convinced of its safety. You can be safe and start with the tried and true piracetam, and go from there.
2) That's really hard to say, as we don't have standardizations for what is in there. You could have got one with more adrenergic activity, which could explain the effects you got. Kratom has so many things in it. We really need to get the science to catch up with it.
