Some people had a paradoxical reaction to the original Sleep Support formula. For about 10% of the people, it actually kept them up. After trying different things, we determined that the Microzinc actually keeps some people awake if they take it before bed. So that's how we narrowed it down to what was doing it. Then we did some beta test batches without zinc in some of the people reporting those side effects, and the non-zinc formula worked as intended. So we decided to alter the formula. Even though it was a small percentage of people that got that effect, it's not ideal to have a sleep supplement keep some people awake.
