Neuralstem stock now worth ~1/100 of that before announcing NSI-189 MDD efficiency 'failure'

I just checked and it totally shocked me.
It looks like the hopes have been high, but it really takes a long time to deliver the product.
Previously they've stated that:
> [ NSI-189] .. did not meet its primary efficacy endpoint of a statistically significant reduction in depression symptoms on the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS)
However, given an over one standard deviation improvement in memory with high confidence and other (quite big improvements) (wikipedia):
> Of particular note are improvements in memory (effect size Cohen's d = 1.12, p = 0.002), working memory (d = 0.81, p = 0.020), and executive functioning (d = 0.66, p = 0.048) as measured by the CogScreen computerized test.
I find it very weird that they didn't yet commercialize the product for any other (say, nootropic) purpose.
What do you think is happening?

Neuralstem are a bunch of amateurs regarding business and public relations. They could have spun those results in a positive manner, as they did show significance in their secondary endpoints. However, they were too dumb to do that. So all anyone talked about was not meeting the primary endpoint, which is VERY hard to do with the MADRS. Then investor confidence waned and shit hit the fan real quick. I sold my CUR stock at $6 just before all that happened, and that was before the last THREE stock splits. So if you look on the history graph, that would be the equivalent of $120 per share after factoring the splits. It's $1.73 as of today's close... They have had to split the stock 3 times since then to avoid de-listing! Their drugs have promise, but their business does not. It's a shame, but this is one of the main issues with drugs in the US. NSI-189 likely will never see the light of day in the US because Neuralstem as a company sucks, but it does have promise for multiple things.
