Comparison between red wine and isolated trans-resveratrol on the prevention and regression of atherosclerosis in LDLr (-/-) mice (2018)

That's actually very interesting! I always assumed it was just the resveratrol causing the effects. However, it being a confounding variable in the diet makes even more sense. It's actually just the Mediterranean diet that is leading to the positive cardiovascular results and lipid levels. The wine is not helping at all. In fact, malondialdehyde levels went UP in the resveratrol/wine groups! So it's possible that the wine is hurting the positive effects of the Mediterranean diet. Crazy!

Fantastic, actually. Much better than trans-resveratrol. Hesperidin was one that surprised me with its AMPK effects. I lose fat while on it really easily, and multiple women at our office take it daily and swear by it no
